This project is a response to interviews and conversations with female artists. Each photograph is of an object typically found within the domestic realm. The object becomes an icon representing their creative legacies. Darling takes its name from the moniker, often used as a term of affection and as pejorative.

The project has found various iterations. Starting as doodles on paper, a tumblr, hand crafted plates of glass, and a series of handmade books - one of which has been acquired by the Special Collections at the library of Manchester School of Art.
