Inside|Out: Artists' Moving Image at Hackney Picturehouse 13-22 May.

In collaboration with the Royal College of Art, the British Film Institute and LUX comes Transformations. This screening is part of Inside|Out, a series of artists’ moving image to run at the Hackney Picturehouse on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 13-22 May 2014.

Featuring international and award winning artists, Inside|Out explores how lived experience is communicated and negotiated through film in four screenings: Navigations, Mediations, Introspections and Transformations, each situating the viewer both Inside and Out of the frame.

Transformations focuses on the deconstruction and subversion of cinematic language by way of epiphanies and realisations that offer shifting perspectives on life, death, the personal as political and what it is to be both spectator and accomplice.

This screening features the work of Sanja Iveković, Maryam Jafri, Noriko Koshida, Charles Lofton, Anri Sala, John Smith, and Mark Wilcox.

UPDATE: The screening will be followed by a Q&A with artist film-makers John Smith and Stuart Croft.
