Evans-Milne was a Young British Artist whose work was shown internationally. She later taught and retrained as a counsellor.

After studying at Manchester Polytechnic (now Manchester Metropolitan University), Evans Milne completed her studies at the Royal College of Art, London. It was here that she gave each student in their studio a jar of honey with a personalised labels each declaring  “secret, sweet, sticky love”, for her graduation, she presented 100 gingham topped jars as Women’s Institute’s Best Offerings, each labelled with sexually explicit text.

Post graduation, she had a successful career with work shown in the United Kingdom and across North America, Europe, and Asia until deciding that she no longer wanted to be an artist. After teaching at Bath Spa University, Evans-Milne retrained as a counsellor working with children and young adults.

Evans-Milne was concerned not only with ideas of love but also with the practice of sharing it with as many people as possible. She had a reputation for being generous and wise, selfless and charming.

In 2007, Evans-Milne was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Although she would succumb to the condition, she still worked to provide a legacy. Since 2010, the Rachel Evans Milne Tribute Fund has raised £50,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and its nominated charities.
